Finding trouble
Its been two years of smooth running at the safety comm at work.. until now .. disbanded... again...over the same stupid things ... money rights power.. first off every one understands money comes from good business, rights come with a good contract(which we don't have), and power (the illusion of) comes from good workers, instead of (real power) wealth owners.

still in mid afternoon
When I chose the name of this blog I thought it was a funny play on words between a line from a counting crows song and a job that usually lets me sleep until ... But now its taken on a new meaning...... fatherhood waking up at around 3-4pm is essential if my new baby is to be fed changed burped and kept happy. Sydney Grace Corbblah born on Oct 27 at 1:06 am 9 lbs even and 21 1/2 inches short is my best reason for everything. I hope I can be a good father to her....I have never been so happy to wake up in the afternoon.

On the map
Chsp -comprehensive health & safety process is what I do every now and again we talk about my safety committee but a brite note ...this week we had the regional CHSP Manager for our sub comm and the head of UPS Chsp these men write our charter for contracts and over see 40,000 (region) & 480,000 ups employees(head) for safety concerns and both are impressed with our committee, with their business cards and their understanding of what we do our sphere of influence is growing exponentially I'd like to see where this goes...

4900
4900 Days ago I started to work at UPS, a job I got in part because of my persistence and in part of a kind departed friend. At first I thought it was a job to to for the summer and maybe find a college to finish school. 13 years 4 months and 30 days of becoming a better man professionally, added responsibility and a safety committee later we are the best safety wise for our type of sort in the country and .... I am now full time . Ups is no longer my job Its my career. and for what is worth not that bad a career at that... hopefully I'll still have time to wake up in mid afternoon.

I am full fed up
Again comes the most busy time of the year and with a little controversy my job is still intact.
Full time .... sometimes a pipe dream sometimes a fact this week shows why both are true Monday 3 old friends and 1 acquaintance were promoted to full time. (congrats to Herm, Randy and Horace to Tony I can only say you worked 17 years turned down the job twice and now decided to take it so fine its still yours and I will have to wait... but if it works out not too long . for those who don't understand If I go full time the bump in salary isn't that big. but It will Allow me to transfer out of new york when the time is right to move. to say Seattle. Happy thoughts and wishes

Risk & Reward
Every now and again an evaluation of life must occur the inherent idea of risk and reward comes into focus risk: (what life is like now) reward: (what it could be like) .... the younger you are the easier the chances to risk what you have for something better the older the more you are willing to hold on to something safe and comfortable In the end you only live once and only you can berate or forgive yourself for the failures, and the victories.. only feel good if what you risked is worth holding on to.

The Big Weekend
OK I will see spider man 3 Very soon. Its on this blog enough.. safe to say it will be the biggest summer movie. but that only begins my weekend(well not quite) a marathon Safety meeting started my weekend. Tomorrow I may cut my hair ... maybe. Gotta See my father because my uncle died and I am upset more that I am indifferent about it, instead of sad; mostly because I didn't know him. So then to my mothers to fix the printer and say hello. Then visit another friend and help her out, and another just to have a little fun.
But at least the computer is fixed and I can do this blog again.

Time to save up and enter a real tourney ...... not wsop just yet but wpt ept or some other that allows me to get better. I am having fun and understanding more and more. Practice for the big one. and maybe in a year $12 million will be mine....

Our Deepest Fear
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Sugar Water
I went to the sugar water festival yesterday and It was nice. Queen Laifah was pretty good, Erika Badu performed well but the big surprise was Jill Scott, she was good even by my standards affible with a voice that was bigger than the Prospect Park bandshell she played at I enjoyed her songs most. Maybe we do it again next year?
